Hunting the Northern Lights- Reykjavik, Iceland

I live in Manchester City Centre so all the Christmas lights, markets and frantic shoppers have ensured I have been hit hard with Christmas spirit!

With this in mind, I thought I would share a proposal I am currently working on in the hope that you will also join me on the countdown to Xmas . I have booked four clients on a trip of a life time in search of the magnificent Northern Lights! I have organised everything from restaurants, transfers, activities and accommodation but when it comes to the 5th December the clients will be having the time of their lives while I will be left waiting for photos!

Day 1 – Arrival, VIP transfers to Hotel Odinsve.  The Hotel Odinsve is a luxurious four-star hotel which is set in the heart of Reykjavik and only 400 metres from Laekjartorg Square. The clients are staying in a junior suite and will be given a few hours to settle into the hotel and enjoy dinner. After dinner the group are whisked off in 4 x 4 jeeps in search of the Northern Lights.

Day 2-  Guests move to  hotel Grimsborgir in Selfoss, staying in a studio apartment.  They have an action packed day exploring natural hot springs, visiting Gullfoss,  snowmobiling on a glacier, visiting Fontana and then finally relaxing in geothermal baths! After this enthralling day the guests will enjoy dinner cooked by their own private chef and then have the option of returning back into the night for another Northern Lights hunt.

Day 3 – The clients spend their final evening in the wonderful Hotel Ranga in the South of Iceland. The themed rooms at Ranga are truly one of a kind. Designed and themed after each of the seven continents, they provide guests with the ultimate comfort, luxury and well deserved relaxation. The suites are designed and decorated with top notch authentic fashion, decor, artwork, fixtures and furnishings coming exclusively from the respective continents.  The clients will spend the day on a self-drive super jeep tour along the south coast (with guide accompanying) . The final evening will be spent enjoying a three course meal and the option of a final Northern Lights hunt!

Day 4 – Self-drive to blue lagoon with guide before heading to airport for return flight.

I will obtain photos and feedback from the clients on their return but for now I will make do with the bright lights of Manchester…
