The Isle of Eriska is one of the venues I visited and counted my lucky stars that I am an Event Organiser. This is a venue with so much potential and character that you are guaranteed to impress even the most difficult of clients.
This building was built in 1884 and has been kept within this family since 1973. Since then it has undergone extensive investment and proudly boasts a 3 Rosette restaurant (voting it one of the top ten in the Country), an ESPA spa, 5 Red Stars and 5 Gold Stars from visit Scotland.
This venue is a dream for events organisers as you can whisk your clients away to this beautiful island and be assured every need is catered for. The Isle of Eriska has an indoor pool, spa, indoor leisure area, tennis and badminton areas, acres of nature trails and a 9 hole golf course.
I had the privilege of eating dinner with the owner Beppo Buchanan- Smith and it was clear that the hotel is still treated with the same respect he gave it when it was his family home. Beppo deals with the enquiries, meets the guests and always goes the extra mile to ensure everyone has an experience to remember. As I devoured my three course meal (and plenty of red wine) I started to dream ways in which I could stay on this Island and live the castle life-style! Beppo makes you feel so comfortable that you feel like you are hosting guests at your own home. There are many things that are magnificent and unique about this castle: the caring hospitality, the breath-taking views, the warm open fires, the queen sized beds… but my personal favourite has to be the famous cheese board with a selection
of 40 cheeses!
To give you some idea of what can be offered at Isle of Eriska, this is a VIP James Bond theme proposal that I have put together for clients in the past-
- Guests arrive at Glasgow airport and fly by helicopter to Isle of Eriska Island
- Afternoon tea served in the hall next to open fire
- James Bond pre-dinner drinks with a tutored Martini Masterclass in the Library Bar with resident Mixologist
- Dinner (Head Chef to talk you through each menu option)
- Full Scottish breakfast
- Departure from pier on Royal Yacht Bloodhood for day of Royal sailing
- Return to Eriska
- Tutored whisky tasting
- Lone piper to lead group into dinner
- Scottish gala dinner
- Leisure time for nature walks, spa treatments and golf
- Private plane transfer back to Glasgow airport
This is the perfect retreat for romantic get-aways, corporate away days and exclusive use celebrations (yes you can take over the full island and every one of the 25 bedrooms…… so you really can be King of the Castle!)
